Love is a far greater science than any modern science.  –Paramhansa Yogananda

This is not about organized religion.

In this casual conversation, Chela will share her unexpected journey from devout atheist to a nondenominational minister who shares the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and the spiritual path of Self-realization.

Most of what we know comes in intellectual form – perceived reality gained through opinions and external sources. But there is another source through which Highest Truth is learned.  As Swami Kriyananda states in The New Path, “The more closely we watch the outside as a means of understanding the inside, the farther off the inside withdraws from our understanding.”

How do we access true, inner knowing? All spiritual masters have stressed that intellectually knowing many things is pointless when you still do not know yourself. Self-knowledge, knowing ourselves as eternal Souls, is the ultimate goal of every genuine spiritual path.

Tap into Chela’s experience as a Kriyaban, Tyagi, disciple of Yogananda, and leader of Ananda Thousand Oaks. She will share the challenges she faced traversing the massive paradigm shift about the nature and purpose of life. What she discovered through her journey was unbridled joy, calmness, and a deeper love than she knew possible.

Enjoy a cup of tea in a beautiful center.  Feel free to ask questions while experiencing Chela’s sincerity and authenticity.

Conversation will include:

  • Facing and overcoming disbelief.
  • Experiential versus intellectual knowing.
  • What is this Self that we are called upon to know if not the personality with its likes, dislikes, and accumulated habits
  • The path of Self-realization?
  • The role of Soul and ego.

It is Chela’s great joy to be of service leading the Ananda Thousand Oaks center. She is an Ananda Minister, a certified meditation instructor, a disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda and a Kriyaban. Chela enjoys sharing the teachings of Self-realization, leading classes for Ananda, meditations, satsangs, and more. She has been married for thirty-five years, is mom to two adult children, and offers a loving heart to anyone seeking support in their spiritual journey. Chela is Author of Bhakti: Journey of Soul discovery.
